Delete your ExpiryVault account

You can delete your ExpiryVault account and the data associated with it at any time. This page explains how, what gets deleted, and what we're required to keep.

App: ExpiryVault (app.expiryvault.mobile) · Last updated: 17 September 2026

Cancel your subscription first. Deleting your account does not cancel a Pro or Family subscription — Google Play manages billing. Open Google Play → profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → ExpiryVault → Cancel subscription, so you aren't charged again.

Option 1: Delete your account in the app

  1. Open ExpiryVault and sign in.
  2. Go to Settings → Account.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Read the summary of what will be deleted, then confirm. You may be asked to verify it's you.

You'll be signed out, and deletion of your account and data starts straight away. Save copies of any documents you want to keep before you delete your account.

Option 2: Request deletion without the app

If you've uninstalled ExpiryVault or can't sign in, email support@expiryvault.app from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my ExpiryVault account". We'll confirm the request, may ask you to verify ownership of the account, and will complete the deletion within 30 days.

Email a deletion request

What is deleted

  • Your ExpiryVault account and sign-in details (including your account with our authentication provider, Clerk)
  • All documents, photos, scans and files in your vaults, including version history
  • Document details such as names, numbers, issue and expiry dates, notes and tags
  • Subscriptions you track and their insights
  • Reminder settings, push tokens and email reminder preferences
  • Vaults and travel trips you created, and anything you shared from them
  • Your membership of any family group

What we keep, and for how long

  • Purchase and transaction records (for example, which plan was bought and when) are kept for as long as tax, accounting and consumer-protection laws require — typically up to 7 years. These do not include your documents. Google Play and RevenueCat also keep their own purchase records.
  • Encrypted backups containing your data are overwritten within 90 days of deletion.
  • Anonymised analytics that can no longer identify you may be kept to understand overall app usage.
  • Records of the deletion request itself and related support emails, kept for up to 2 years so we can show we honoured your request.

Timeline

Your data is removed from our active systems within 30 days of your request, and from backups within a further 60 days (90 days in total). Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

If you're on a Family plan

If you're a member, deleting your account removes you from the family group and deletes your personal vault. Items you added to the shared family vault are deleted too — move anything others need before you delete your account.

If you're the organiser, cancel the Family subscription in Google Play first. When it ends, other members move to the Free plan and keep their own personal vaults.

Delete some data without deleting your account

You can delete individual documents, files, subscriptions and vaults at any time in the app. Deleted items are removed from your vault immediately and from our systems on the same timeline described above. To request deletion of specific data you can't remove yourself, email privacy@expiryvault.app.
